Fire destroyed a home in DeKalb Junction Tuesday morning.
Volunteers from DeKalb Junction, Hermon, Canton and Rensselaer Falls fire departments were called to 97 Old State Road just before 11 a.m.
They found the home engulfed in flames. Later, the roof caved in.
One fire official says volunteers dealt with windy conditions while battling the blaze.
“Excellent response from everybody. I know that it’s the middle of the day and a lot of people are working, so I couldn’t be more pleased with the people that showed up,” said Dekalb Junction Fire Chief Jordan Deleel.
No one was home when the blaze broke out. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
