The department has intensified the hiring process.
This as the demand for firefighters is expected to increase by seven percent in the next two years, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
There is a mental and physical test, so when the call comes, Goose Creek Fire Fighters are prepared. "We've always got to be ready, we've always got to be in shape," Captain Bill Campbell said.
"You have to want to be here," Firefighter Paramedic Chadwick Davis said.
The department’s hiring process is a true test of strength, endurance, and determination.
