In a celebration of steadfast commitment to community safety, the City of Ovilla has recognized one of its own for an impressive tenure. The Ovilla City Council meeting this April saw Interim Fire Chief Kevin Mooney dole out an Outstanding Service Award to Chad Moore, a dedicated firefighter who's been battling blazes and coming to the aid of Ovillians for nearly two decades. It was a moment of heartfelt thanks as Mooney commended Moore for his 17 years of service with the Ovilla Fire Department, a stretch marked by unwavering dedication to the citizens he pledged to protect. Moore, who has recently been called to serve in a higher capacity, is set to leave behind the department that was his professional home for so long.
