PHOTOS: Fire broke out on Monday afternoon at a vacant Salt Lake City home next door to a home that burned on Sunday, Salt Lake City fire officials confirmed to 2News. Firefighters were working to extinguish the flames at 50 S. 900 West on Monday afternoon. The home at 55 South caught fire on Sunday. Both homes were vacant and boarded up at the time they caught fire, officials confirmed.
Fire officials said it was too early to tell whether the circumstances were suspicious, but investigators would make that determination.
Electricity at the 55 South 900 West home was reportedly still on at the time it caught fire, even though the home was boarded up.
