PHOTOS: Fire heavily damaged a warehouse in West Valley City Monday night, officials said. Crews responded to the building belonging to Advanced Fluids Systems at 3005 S. 3600 West about 10:15 p.m., according to West Valley City Fire Battalion Chief Scott Hall. First responders found heavy smoke and fire coming from the south side of the building. It took close to 60 firefighters about an hour to bring the flames under control, Hall said. Intense heat and smoke inside the metal building forced crews to battle the fire from outside. The building's owner arrived on scene and confirmed there were no hazardous materials on site except for some gas cylinders, which were not compromised, Hall said. He called damage to the building extensive and said an inspector will determine the structural stability later Tuesday morning.
