VIDEO: Millcreek Mayor Jeff Silvestrini says a three-alarm fire at an apartment complex under construction on Wednesday afternoon caused millions of dollars worth of damage. The fire was to blame for the large column of smoke visible across the Salt Lake Valley on Wednesday evening, according to Unified Fire Authority officials. Fire crews were on the scene at 1297 E. Miller Ave. shortly before 6 p.m. Unified Fire Authority official Ryan Love said that one woman was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and is currently in stable condition. There were no other injuries reported, said Love. Silvestrini directed traffic at the scene and said he had seen flames shooting up at least 30 feet above the structure.
