A woman died and a child was injured Tuesday morning after a crash in Logan Canyon. About 8 a.m., a Dodge Caravan was driving east on U.S. 89 when it lost control and hit the barrier on both sides of the highway before spinning into a westbound Ford F-350, the Utah Highway Patrol said. The Ford hit the passenger side of the Dodge, troopers said. The woman driving the Dodge died at the scene. Her name has not yet been released. A child in the Dodge was taken to a hospital with injuries described as serious, but troopers said they did not appear life-threatening. The driver of the Ford was also taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Troopers said they are investigating road conditions as a contributor to the crash. Lane restrictions remained in place on U.S. 89 in Logan Canyon for the cleanup and investigation, the UHP said.
