A house fire in Ogden has left one family pet dead and 12 people displaced early Wednesday morning, April 24, according to the Ogden Fire Department.
Ogden Fire Deputy Chief Mike Slater said his team arrived at a one-story house near the 500 block of Monroe Boulevard just before 3 a.m. on Wednesday. They reported “heavy smoke and flames” on the outside and extending into the home.
“The structure was quickly searched and evacuated; firefighters had water on the fire within minutes,” said Slater. The fire reportedly threatened another home nearby, however, firefighters from Ogden Fire and North View Fire were able to contain the flames to the original structure.
Twelve people were displaced by the fire and are staying with family members, according to Deputy Chief Slater.
