A Sunday fire resulted in $220,000 of estimated damages to a High Knob home and rendered it uninhabitable, according to a Warren County Fire and Rescue news release.
The release states that fire and rescue staff around 2 p.m. Sunday responded to multiple reports of a house fire in the 400 block of Red Bud Lane in the High Knob area.
Upon arriving at the unoccupied two-story house, the release states that there was “significant fire conditions on the second floor and throughout the roof system of the home.” While no residents were home, the release states that a neighbor allowed a dog to escape by breaking a door. There are two cats, however, whose whereabouts are unknown.
The release states the fire was brought under control in about 40 minutes and units remained on the scene for “several hours” to ensure it was extinguished.
