Fire crews responded to an apartment fire in Bristol, Virginia. According to officials with the Bristol Virginia Fire Department, the call came in just after 10 p.m. on Sunday for a fire at Northwind Townhomes on the corner of Old Airport Road and Kingmill Pike. An occupant of an apartment came downstairs and noticed smoke. They were able to get a second occupant and get out of the apartment safely. Officials say the fire started on the second floor and was put out quickly, but also noted there was substantial damage to the second floor and the apartment is likely unlivable. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
