Lightning struck a home overnight in Forest. The Forest Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to the home in the unspecified location around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday. An ABC13 crew found a home with damage to the roof in the 1100 block of South Oak Lawn Drive. Crews were able to bring the fire under control. No injuries were reported. ABC13 Chief Meteorologist George Flickinger said more than 4-inches of rain fell in some parts of Bedford County overnight, near Sedalia and Timber Ridge, as a very strong, slow-moving storm moved through. Power outages were reported in the town of Bedford, mostly from lightning.
