A dog has been reunited with its owner in Danville after getting stuck in debris in the Dan River on Thursday night. Crews responded to the 200 block of Northside Drive Thursday evening for a report of a dog trapped near a log in the Dan River. Upon arrival, crews found a dog near a log that was entangled in debris in the river. The dog was down an embankment, about 25 feet. Crews were able to descend to the dog and remove the debris around it. The dog then swam to the shoreline and back to his owner. The dog was uninjured and did not require assistance.
