PHOTOS: A worker is seriously injured after he was shocked when he came into contact with a bucket truck that had hit a power line.
According to Richmond Fire and EMS, at 9:48 a.m. on Monday, April 15, a call reported the incident, after which units arrived in less than five minutes.
When firefighters arrived, they found a bucket truck that was trimming trees had hit a powerline, and that one worker had come into contact with the vehicle and was then shocked by the electricity. The worker was taken to a nearby hospital for the treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. A department spokesperson said that Jahnke Road and the nearby train tracks would be shut down until around noon. At 11 a.m., about 29 homes and businesses were without power in the Forest View area of the city.
