PHOTOS: A vehicle fire has been causing delays all morning on I-64 near 4th View Street in Norfolk. Virginia State Police responded to the scene around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday for a tractor-trailer fully engulfed in flames on eastbound I-64 at mile marker 273. All east lanes and the east exit 273 have been closed for hours as crews work to clear the road. State Police said they do not have an estimated time yet when the traffic lanes will reopen. Traffic was backed up for miles, extending into Hampton at the I-664 interchange. Travelers coming from Hampton were urged to use I-664 south (the Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel) as an alternate route. A detour was put in place at 15th View Street (exit 272). According to Norfolk Fire-Rescue, the vehicle, now completely unrecognizable, was a postal truck with no known hazards on board.
